Chinese porcelain 18th century celadon glazed water dropper modelled as a lotus flower joined to a seed head. the excellent modelling shows the petals, the seed head and the stalks of the flower and seed head with excellent detail and definition.

The stalks go down around the body to underneath and there they act as feet, which are unglazed on the base.

Although it is celadon glazed it would have been made at Jingdezhen. This is a typical early 18th century colour and it is where the term Celadon comes from.

The piece would have been produced for the scholar - the Chinese Literati - and would have been for the scholars table, one of the pieces personal to him

Excellent quality and a fairly item in this colour and form.
