Chinese early 18th Century blue and white porcelain tea pot made during the reign of the Emperor Yongzheng at the kilns at Jingdezhen.

made for export to Europe but painted in the Chinese taste showing a pair of confronting cockerels with willow trees and peonies.

The spout is shaped with seven sides and the handle is starting to show the development of the bracket shape, to become popular twenty years later

The lid sits in to the top of the pot and as it is flat the finial stands tall with a bud shaped end.
