Chinese 17th century Wucai jardinière made during the first Qing Emperors reign Shunzhi at the kilns at Jingdezhen for the Chinese market
excellent enamelling and painting to show a large flowering tree peony with grasses beside a large hollow with bamboo issuing from it and on the far side of the rock work an entwined large prunus tree. between the peony tree and the prunus are two birds flying
around and under the rim is a band of scrolling foliage demi flower heads.
base is flat and unglazed
