Southern Song pale ash glazed conical Qing bai bowl. the conical bowl has an excellent glaze that is light with a small delicate crackle to it. The rim is cleared off where a metal band would have been applied to prevent warping in the kiln that has long ago worn off.

To the inside on the bottom it is decorated with two carp with aquatic plants. Pairs of fish are known for fertility when in pairs. This was because they produce much spawn.

The base on the foot is unglazed with a two character mark in a charcoal coloured thickish script.

Overall an excellent piece and in very good condition
