Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain in the shape of a Rhinoceros horn libation cup c1760 very rare item. Made at the kilns at Jingdezhen

Excellent modelling and decoration with double walled sides with the outer side being reticulated in shaped pierced panels and also with pierced foot in the shape of a daisy flower.

The handle is wonderful in the form of a climbing Chilong peering over the edge.

The painting around the rim and base is of a geometric intricate design.

The potting and firing of these type of items would have been very difficult with very few surviving the process. the outer reticulated sides are delicate and very vulnerable when in use so again very few of the original number would have survived intact. the reticulation is perfect!

it is a lovely piece modelled in the shape of a rhino horn with curving and moulded rim and the inside wall of the porcelain to the inside of the cup showing a carved wavey affect

A beautiful rarity
