Chinese Porcelain jar from the late Ming period / Early Qing known as the Transitional period. This dates to the Shunzhi reign c1650. made at Jingdezhen and painted in the wucai palette
Painting shows Dogs of Fo amongst foliage and flowering peonies. The neck is decorated in the traditional pattern of ‘flames’ / lapets.
medium sized jar as this decoration is found on much smaller and larger jars.
The flat bottom is typical of the age as is the brown rim to the top of the jar.
