Ming / Annamese hexagonal blue and white jar

Ming / Annamese hexagonal blue and white jar

SKU: 178161

Annamese blue and white hexagonal jar. Very good decoration on the sides of either a geometric pattern or a flower sprig. Around the shoulder the pattern is repeated
This is very well painted and potted and reflects the pieces produced at Jingdezhen.
Annam was the name for modern Viet Nam. During the Ming dynasty this area was under the sphere of influence of the Ming and their ceramics definitely benefitted from this. They were able to produce some very well painted ceramics on a stoneware body.
this is a very good example
