Chongzhen or Shunzhi Transitional molded white glazed bowl made at Jingdezhen c1640 with a six character Cheng H’ua mark to the base. The apocryphal for the earlier Ming Emperor is to honour and not to deceive.
The rim is slightly everted and scalloped giving it the foliate shape. The sides are delicately molded to form a lotus flower design
It is delicately potted with a good covering of white glaze which is why there is a slight nibbling to the foot rim where kiln grit has been removed.
There are three small discoloured imperfections to the inside of the bowl and two small frits and one very tiny frit to the rim The rim is 11cm in diameter
It is so difficult to photograph the bowl well due to the white colour
