Wanli late Ming blue and white porcelain moulded plate. Painted to the centre with an aquatic scene with a wonderful crab on a rock with aquatic plants and an egret / stork stood on a promontory. a rare and therefore unusual design.
the cavetto is moulded like a lotus flower and un painted. This type is early Kraak and according to Rinaldi in Kraak Porcelain is a category 1 border and made at Jingdezhen between 1610 - 1615
The plate would have been made for early export with the Dutch East India Company.
