Chinese Ming Blue and White porcelain jar made during the reign of the Emperor Wanli at Jingdezhen
The outside is painted with a dignitary / scholar and attendant or pupil in front of a pyramid fence with rock work and bamboo in the background.
The neck is decorated with rounded cartouches in filled with peonies.in a geometric band.
Around the base below a double line there is decorated quickly drawn waves.
The reverse of the jar appears to be painted with a sea or water pattern
The base underneath has a two character script mark

Overall good. The expected chips to the foot rim where the kiln grit has removed and a 0.7cm hair line in the neck which appears to be under the glaze and is a firing flaw
