Chinese late 16th century blue and white porcelain lidded paste pot with original cover.

Small rounded form made at the kilns at Jingdezhen and painted with a stylized sunflower design to the top and possibly mountains on the horizon to the sides.

Small pots such as these were often associated with, small pigment or spice pots or paste pots for the paste which seals were pressed into.

This small pot has possibly been buried in mud or silt due to the look of the inside.
