Ming blue and white jar made during the reign of the Emperor Wanli. Painted in under glaze blue to show three dignitaries / scholars in a line. They are in a naturalistic setting with rockwork, and in front of a pavilion.

The base is marked with the painters name in a single character which makes the jar interesting as the patter is not that uncommon being popular with early export ware to Europe and in China.

The painting and colour are good with good potting to the jar

perfect condition , there is a small stress star shaped crack to the inside not visible to the outside, this is common for these jars
