Ming blue and white Kraak crow cup from the kilns at Jingdezhen. Painted in panels to show either auspicious Chinese flowers or various scenes with butterflies separated by narrow panels of ribbons. the inside is sparsely painted with panels of flowering blossom and to the centre at the bottom with a crow sat on a rock, hence the name crow cup as the bird was seen in the west as a crow.

This is an excellent example of this type being more finely potted than many and also slightly larger than most.. the rim is slightly barbed and everted and is finished very well
