Chinese Imari early 18th Century Chocolate pot made of Porcelain and painted with the Imari palette. The Chinese were quick to copy the Japanese colour and design as it was becoming very popular in the West.

The painting shows Pagodas, retreats, water, tress and clouds and very much designed for the Dutch market with the off set spout to handle. The white metal mounts are very probably silver and in the Dutch style.

The base is encircled with the silver Excellent colour and shape.
