Kangxi blue and white pear shaped bottle vases, early eighteenth century Chinese blue and white porcelain small vases made at the kilns at Jingdezhen.

Excellent colour and potting. The decoration shows Ruyi head shaped panels painted in blue leaving the unpainted part to show scrolling lotus flowers and leaves.. the slightly everted rim is glazed with a brown / café au lait line above a double line of blue

The shape and design are very Islamic in look and probably made for the European market or Middle Eastern market although there was an Islamic community in China.

Small vases were often more difficult to pot well and the painting was always exceptional on high class items.

These are unusual both in shape and design because of their size.
