Kangxi famille verte or Egg and spinach glazed model of Bodhisattva of Mercy. The model is biscuit fired with a dry glazed body. The bright Green, yellow and aubergine colours are often referred to as Egg and Spinach.
The model is also known as Guanyin and she is holding a fly whisk in her right hand and a flask or jar on her lap with her left hand.
The modelling shows her as being seated on a lotus base symbolising harmony and peace. The lotus is above a turbulent sea representing chaos that is to be tamed.
The modelling is very good and the glaze bright and in very good condition.
