Early kangxi/late Transitional plate with an unusual deoration that is border line wucai or early form of famille verte. The side is painted with a triangular panels with flower heads. The bottom of the inside of the plate shows a scene of a squatting figure / sage or possibly a geni. The figure is in front of a lanscaped sene with mountains, pagodas, pyramid fence and trees.

The rim is scalloped and the whole piece was probably export warre for the Japanese market.

very small area of loss of blue enamel in th ecloud, and a small frit. Blue glaze often falls away as it was difficult to attach.
