Chinese early 18th century porcelain famille verte Chocolate cup made during the reign of The Emperor Kangxi. Made at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to the Middle East or Europe. The shape of the cup is very unusual and is based on a Persian metal ware shape. with the angular handle and bulbous flared body.

Painted around the sides with the top showing four of the treasures of the scholar ins and the scrolls. Around the bottom part of the cup the painting shows a fenced garden with peonies, chrysanthemums and a pair of perched egrets symbolizing marital longevity



A rare shape with excellent colour and decoration.
