Chinese early 18th Century Kangxi famille verte deep octagonal oblong dish, probably a base for a tureen.
Excellent painting and bright enamels with decoration to show Chrysanthemum, Plum Blossom and Peonies with a pair of swallows. The swallow is the sign of spring
The panels are painted with flowers reflecting the flowers from the centre and these are also painted to the underside of the rim.
Wonderful painting which is heightened with gilt.
