Chinese early 18th century famille verte moulded porcelain tea bowl and saucer. The pattern on the bowl and saucer is most unusual showing free painting to the centre of a sinuous pine tree with prunus above water, there is a pair of swallows / blue birds to complete the scene.

The sides are outlined around the moulding to represent a lotus flower, and above this there is excellent painting of flowering prunus with branches below a barbed rim.

The pattern is repeated to the outside of the tea bowl and to the inside a bird in the tree.

such patterns are rare and this was part of the collection of Chatsworth house.

excellent and rare example

the saucer is 12.5cm in diameter and the bowl is 4.75cm tall
