Chinese Ducai saucer dish made at the end of the reign of the Emperor Kangxi or possibly the start of the Emperor Yongzhengs.

Excellent enamelling of over glaze enamels to show a central roundel of swimming and flying Mandarin Ducks on a pond surrounded by leafy and flowering lotus. This panel is marked out by a double blue line around the outside. The scene is repeated to the underside of the cavetto.

The top of the cavetto on the inside is painted in alternating colours of stylised Sanskrit.

The base to the underside has a square mark with roundels inside it.
