Chinese 18th century blue and white vase, made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi. The silver that has been added is Dutch silver from the late 18th or very early 19th century.

The double gourd vase is painted with a strong vibrant blue in two similar panels showing a lady in a naturalistic setting. The Dutch silver work has a star repeating design in the silver itself and it has been added to convert the piece into a sugar sifter.

To the base there is a Jade mark and possibly a Dutch hallmark in the silver but difficult to tell.

A fine piece over all
