Made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi - Chinese early 18th century - blue and white porcelain tea bowl and saucer with a light café au lait glaze to the outside of the tea bowl and to the underside of the saucer. Made at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to Europe.

Painted in under glaze blue with sprays of flowering sprays of Chrysanthemums issuing from rockwork with grasses growing around the bottom of the rock. The inside has the same pattern but with more detail.

The underside of the bowl is painted with a double circle inside the foot rim around the lunar hare mark. On the saucer in the foot rim the double circle goes around a square seal chop mark.

Excellent painting and glaze showing a classy sophistication.
