Chinese early 18th century blue and white bowl made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi for export to Europe at the kilns at Jingdezhen. Slightly everted rim and moulded sides. The rim has small barbs along the top making a scalloped appearance.
The sides are painted with ladies at leisure on a terrace with flowering branches to the side.
The inside painted with a double line around the top which is also repeated to the outside. On the inside small bows are coming down from the blue lines. The centre is painted with a seated scholar
The base has a double blue line around a six character apocryphal Cheng Hua mark an earlier Ming ruler this is to honour and not to deceive.
