Chinese early 18th century blue and white spirally moulded ovoid jar made at Jingdezhen during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi c1700
The spirally moulded body is painted in the flute with pencil painted climbing flowering plants. This hatched in fill was based on the way the European printed books reproduced shading in pictures.
