Chinese early 18th century porcelain rosewater sprinkler made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns in Jingdezhen.

The painting is excellent quality of flowering lotus and foliage which continues part way up the neck. above a band of wave scrolls.

To the base there is an Artemisia leaf in under glaze blue showing the quality of the piece. The leaf represents loyalty and scholarly achievement.

The piece was either made for the Middle Eastern Islamic market or for the comparatively small Islamic community in China

The white metal mounts are probably silver but not marked and are a later addition.
