Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain large plate made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi.

Excellent colour and painting to show a hollow rock with grasses and chrysanthemums with a perching Magpie, the Chinese bird of happiness. The cavetto is painted with hollow rock chrysanthemums and peonies. Both these flowers are part of the group known as the Noble flowers being of importance in Chinese folk lore.

the underside is painted to the base with a double circle around the Artemisia leaf a sign of loyalty and steadfastness.

The underside of the rim is painted with flower sprays
