Chinese early 18th century blue and white porcelain moulded bowl made at the kilns at Jingdezhen during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi.
Excellent quality, potting, painting and size as it is larger then many of this design.
The moulded body is with petal shaped panels on two levels which are outlined in blue. The top panels are in filled with flowering tree peonies. The bottom layer panels are painted with auspicious items which are part of the group referred to as The Hundred Antiques.
The rim is barbed and slightly everted with a graceful tapering look
The inside around the rim is painted with a band of flowers in panels in different shapes and design. The sides are plain with the moulding obviously showing and the base is painted with the a roundel inside a double circle. The roundel shows peonies, hollow rock and grasses.
The underside on the base is a jade mark inside a double circle.
The quality of the piece is excellent and although typical of Kangxi is very different due to its larger size Originally made for export to Europe but also reflects Chinese taste and design.
