Chinese 18th century porcelain blue and white plate made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to Europe with The Dutch or British East India Company.

Ding mark to the back inside a double circle.

Excellent painting and pattern with a vibrant cobalt blue colour.

The painting to the centre shows rockwork, large Chrysanthemums and grasses around the rocks. The side of the plate has the pattern repeated with flowers and rockwork.

The underside is painted with flower sprays and a large ding inside a double circle - a ding being an incense burner associated with the scholar.
