Kangxi early 18th century blue and white coffee pot made for the European market. The body was made at Jingdezhen and the white metal which is very probably silver was applied in the west at a later date in the Dutch style.
The body is painted with an excellent blue to show flowering lotus with foliage and clouds.
The piece is elegant and is an excellent colour and small size.
The white metal was added when the lid was lost and the handle was probably damaged.
