Chinese early 18th century blue and white porcelain Chamber stick / Candlestick. Made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to Holland.

candle sticks and especially Chambersticks are rare items as they often broken in transit and also when in use.

This has excellent decoration of the typical hatched chevron pattern of the start of the 18th century with scrolling foliage and flowers. The proportions are excellent and it would have been a difficult shape to produce.
