Chinese early 18th century pair of blue and white pear shaped bottle vase with flaring rim made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns at Jingdezhen

An unusual vases with a mixture of Islamic, Buddhist and Chinese taste decoration in an all over pattern. The single vase which I have and these is a very rare occurence and a pair is wonderful.

The main part of the body is painted with scrolling lotus in Islamic shaped panels with ruyi headed shaped foliage. The pattern on the neck is of a triangular cell shaped design with small shaped panels of foliage

The top of the neck and below the neck a typical Kangxi hatched pattern

Double circle around an artemesia leaf to the base

The artemesia leaf is synonomous with loyalty and honesty with learning
