Chinese early 18th century blue and white plate made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi for export to Europe at the kilns at Jingdezhen
Unusual decoration to show a large Chrysanthemum to the centre surrounded by stylised foliage in a blue surround. The moulded sides are painted with trailing sprays of flowers which is repeated to the underside.
The moulded sides are to represent petals and produce a foliate edged rim.
the underside to the base has a double circle around an apocryphal six character mark for the Ming Emperor Cheng Hua.
