Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain jar made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722) at the kilns at Jingdezhen. Although made as export ware to Europe the Jar is of high quality being of a very good bright blue with a white glaze and body which is moulded with narrow flutes or ribs.

the jar is painted with four roundels of blue painting to show dignitaries and ladies in terrace or garden settings with rock work and plantains.

the base is painted with a double circle around a six character linear mark for the earlier Ming Emperor Cheng Hua. this mark was not to deceive but to honour being an apocryphal mark.

The shoulder and around the base are painted with a bad of dragons with auspicious objects.

Excellent colour potting and larger than many of this type.
