Chinese early eighteenth century - Kangxi - blue and white lozenge shaped vase. The sides are moulded and painted in panels with lappets to the base and around the bottom of the panels. These are moulded and are raised. Each panel is painted with a jardinière with a flowering chrysanthemum plant.
The vase has a replacement wood and white metal lid, the white metal is very probably silver in the Dutch style. The original lid having been lost or broken.
the base and shoulders are also embellished with white metal, very probably silver, although unmarked.
