Kangxi blue and white lidded baluster vase
Reference

Framed Height
15 cm (5 1/1")
Kangxi - Chinese early 18th century - blue and white porcelain lidded vase. Excellent colour and potting.
The vase is moulded to the top of the body and around the base with petal shaped panels or lappets with painting inside of flowering plants and outlined with a double blue line which is also repeated to the lid. The middle section of the body has a beautiful continuous scene of boats which are merchantmen, Junks and San Pans or Fishermen in San Pans. A most unusual busy estuary scene on a small vase. This design is found on much larger floor vases.
The base of the neck has the traditional Kangxi pattern of hatched chevrons and a few flowering sprays to the neck itself
