Chinese early 18th century Hookah or Huqa base made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi. Decorated with bright blue and potted very well with a difficult form to pot well.
the painting shows intense decoration of scrolling foliage and lotus flowers around the base of the body while the top part is more sparsely painted with flower heads and small stylised buds.
The piece has a bulb shaped top above a brown rimmed collar to allow the pipes to fit.
