Chinese early 18th century blue and white porcelain bowl made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns at Jingdezhen and painted with two four toed dragons chasing the flaming pearl.

The dragons are shown as running above a turbulent sea chasing the pearl and each other. The inside of the pearl is painted to the bottom with a flaming pearl.

The painting and detail is excellent showing symbols associated with Taoism to the underside of the rim and to the top of the rim a turbulent sea a flower heads.

The flaming pearl was the source of all knowledge and if caught all the knowledge would become yours.

The base is painted with a double circle around a ding or scholars censer / incense burner
