Chinese early 18th century blue and white porcelain double gourd rose water sprinkler made at the kilns at Jingdezhen during the reign of the emperor Kangxi c1700

Really unusual design with intense painting of flower heads / chrysanthemums on the bottom section and the neck and middle with a band of stylised flower heads separating the bottom section.

Although these shapes are often associated with the Islamic or Indian market they were much appreciated in the west and brought in for decoration rather than for use

The base is painted with a four character chop mark with the name of the painter or potter.
