Chinese early 18th century made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi c1700 with an apocryphal Cheng Hua mark inside a double circle to the base.

Brilliant painting and colour showing a scene from either the Romance of the Three Empires or the Romance of the Western Chamber.

The continual scene shows a meeting in the open with figures horse and chariot with dignitaries, they are outside a pagoda with ladies and attendants. The inside is painted with a reclining Confucian scholar.

The Colour is a brilliant blue and the detail of the painting is extremely good. The body of the bowl is very white and very fine.
