Chinese Transitional small wine cup from the Hatcher Cargo which sank c1643.
The outside is plain glazed while the inside to the bottom has a blue lotus flower. To the base there is a six character Cheng Hua apocryphal mark
The Hatcher Cargo was the first of the wreck cargos brought up by Michael Hatcher and the cargo was subsequently sold through Christies Amsterdam between 1983 and 1986 in several auctions.
The cargo dates from the end of the Ming Dynasty and has been important in the dating of several styles and techniques
