Chinese southern Song 12th century Qing Bai ewer. The elegant ewer has an unusual strap handle and the typical short gently curving spout. The body is rounded with a conical neck.
the excellent pale ash glaze has a light crackle to the finish and falls short of the foot rim. this is typical as they were glazed by dipping in the glaze and then turned over with the glaze falling down the sides.
