Chinese 19th century pair of Famille verte porcelain bowls made at Jingdezhen for export to Europe or North America.

Excellent decoration with two fan shaped panels either side bordered by intense painting of scrolling foliage and flowers in burnt orange colour. The border is repeated to the inside of the rim too.

The painting is excellent with great detail and expertise.

The two panels on each bowl are the same. One shows a fisherman on a san pan with cliffs a skein of geese and the other shows a scholar on a promontory with trees and a skein of geese in a cloudy sky.

The base on the inside is painted with a a flower head repeating one from the border.

The painting is intricate and of a very high quality.

They are copying to honour some of the pieces that were produced during the previous century.
