Kangxi - Chinese 18th century - blue and white moulded plate painted with the much collected Mongolian Hunting Pattern. the centre of the plate shows a lady and attendant in a mountainous river landscape out hunting.

The sides are moulded and the rim has a barbed and scalloped edge. the cavetto is painted with stylized lotus flowers scrolling around the edge which are interspersed with Buddhist auspicious emblems.

The underside is painted on the underside of the cavetto with single flowers on stems while the base is painted with a double circle around a Cheng Hua six character linear mark. This mark is an apocryphal mark not to deceive but to honour.

I have other examples of this plate.
