Chinese 19th century blue and white snuff bottle
Reference
5546
Height
9 cm (3 1/2")
Chinese cylindrical blue and white snuff bottle with under glaze blue decoration.
The pattern is very unusual as it shows an aquatic scene with water weed and fish. The fish appear to have legs and these are Wah Wah (Wa Wa) fish which are in appearance like Salamanders although live in the bottom of estuaries and tidal rivers.
The stopper would appear to be original wit a metal spoon that virtually reaches to the bottom on the inside
Over all an interesting piece
