Ming Kraak made during the reign of the Emperor Wanli at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to the Netherlands between 1600 - 1610
Painted to the outside in panels of flying horses going over a turbulent sea. the horses are in various poses.
The horse is an important symbol both as a zodiac animal and a legend of folklore.
The bowl is molded to the inside which with the small size of the bowl with this design makes this a rare bowl. Excellent colour and painting
The inside to the base it is decorated with a stylized flower head.
