Qianlong famille rose tankard made for export to europe. Painted in over glaze enamels to show a family at leisure on a terrace with a bird on a perch and a dog. the handle has a small flower at its base and underneath the handle is a landscape scene in overgalze puce decoration. it is generally thought that bell shaped mugs or tankards were for cider while the staright sided ones were for ale as generally they were less elaborate.
